Stormwater Awareness Week is coming up October 1-7, 2026! The Summit County Surface Water Management District (SWMD), Summit Soil & Water Conservation District (Summit SWCD), and local partners are working together to provide residents with hands-on opportunities to learn more about stormwater and how we can all help protect our local waterways.

Throughout the week, residents can participate in activities such as litter cleanups, native plantings, and hands-on stormwater stewardship workshops. Each event provides an opportunity to learn how simple actions can help reduce pollution, protect water quality, and support healthier waterways throughout Summit County.

Residents can also participate from home by completing the Stormwater Steward Pledge, an online activity that can be completed at any time during Stormwater Awareness Week.

Stormwater Steward Swag Bags

As a thank-you for participating, the first 20 attendees at each in-person event will receive a Stormwater Steward Swag Bag.

Residents who complete the online Stormwater Steward Pledge will also be entered into a drawing for a swag bag.
