Northfield Center Township to Update Comprehensive Plan

Northfield Center Township has begun the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan, a long-term guide for growth, development, and land use in the community. The current plan, last updated in 1998, helps shape decisions related to housing, business development, public spaces, and community services.
The Township has retained Envisions, a professional planning firm with extensive expertise in community planning, to assist with this effort. At this stage, the Township is conducting an audit rather than a full comprehensive plan. This audit will provide a professional review of the Township’s current zoning and planning framework to identify gaps, legal risks, and key priorities.
By starting with this focused approach, the Township aims to modernize its nearly 30-year-old framework and establish a strong, legally sound foundation for a future Comprehensive Plan that aligns with Ohio law and reflects the community’s evolving needs and goals. This process helps ensure resources are used efficiently while setting the stage for a more effective and informed full plan update.
