Northfield Center Township would like to remind residents that seasonal property maintenance standards are now in effect. Each year beginning May 1, the Township enforces regulations related to noxious weeds, tall grass, and overall yard upkeep to help maintain a clean, safe, and attractive community.
In general, property owners are expected to keep grass trimmed below eight inches and ensure that landscaping, such as trees, shrubs, and gardens, is properly maintained. This includes removing dead or damaged vegetation and preventing overgrowth that could create health or safety concerns.
If a property is found to be out of compliance, the Township may issue a notice requiring the issue to be addressed within a short timeframe. Continued non-compliance could result in the Township completing the work and billing the property owner.
