Northfield Center Township Zoning is made up of three groups.

The Zoning Commission is responsible for writing the Northfield Center Township Zoning Code.

The Zoning Inspector and Assistant Zoning Inspector manage the daily activities of the Zoning Department including assisting residents with zoning applications, approving/denying zoning applications, and monitoring community structures for compliance with Northfield Center's Zoning Code.

The Zoning Board of Appeals listens to appeals and decides if an alleged error was made in the interpretation of Northfield Center's Zoning Code, authorizes variances to Northfield Center's Zoning Code, grants conditional variances to Northfield Center's Zoning Code, and revokes authorized variances and Conditional Zoning Certificates regarding the extraction of minerals.
