Storm Debris Pickup Update and Reminders

The Service Department began storm debris collection yesterday and will continue working throughout the week (weather permitting) following the recent windstorm.

UPDATE: The Service Department is not able to collect leaves during this process, as the branch chipper cannot handle leaf material. Residents are encouraged to bag leaves and dispose of them with regular trash service.

As a reminder, crews will be making one pass throughout the township. Residents are encouraged to have all storm debris placed at the curb as soon as possible to ensure collection.

To help ensure an efficient and safe process, please continue to follow these guidelines:

  • Logs must be no more than 12 inches in diameter and cut into 18-inch lengths
  • Branches may be longer, but should be placed with the cut (thicker) ends facing the street
  • Do not place all materials in one large pile, as this creates a tangled mess that is difficult to process
  • Do not place branches in the roadway
  • Do not place debris in roadside ditches; all materials must be placed within the road right-of-way

Following these guidelines will help crews complete collection as quickly and efficiently as possible.

If you have any questions, please contact the Service Department at 330-467-7646 ext. 6.

The Township thanks you for your continued cooperation as we work to clean up storm debris and keep our community safe and orderly.
