Protecting Our Waterways: Updates from Summit County SWMD

The Summit County Surface Water Management District recently released its quarterly newsletter highlighting efforts to protect local waterways. In 2025, the program reached more than 23,000 residents through educational programs and community events, engaged volunteers in stream monitoring and clean-up efforts, and conducted hundreds of construction site inspections to help prevent pollution from entering local streams.

The newsletter also highlights upcoming opportunities for residents to get involved, including the Stormwater Solutions Residential Grant Program, which provides funding for projects such as rain barrels and rain gardens to help manage stormwater at home.
