On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, Northfield Center Township residents will have the opportunity to vote on Issue 48, a renewal tax levy to support township roads and bridges.
What is Issue 48?
Issue 48 is a renewal levy—not a new tax—for the benefit of Northfield Center Township.
Funds from this levy are dedicated to the general construction, reconstruction, resurfacing, and repair of streets, roads, and bridges within the Township.
- Estimated annual collection: $224,318
- Rate: 1.4 mills for each $1 of taxable value
- Cost: $28 per $100,000 of the county fiscal officer’s appraised value
- Duration: 5 years, commencing in 2025, first due in 2026
What Does This Mean for Homeowners?
- If your home’s taxable value is $100,000, the levy will cost you $28 per year.
- Example: A home with a taxable value of $250,000 will cost $70 per year (or $5.83 per month).
To check your home’s appraised value:

Why Is This Levy Important?
This levy funds approximately 50% of our road projects and supports the work of our Service Department personnel. Renewal of this levy ensures Northfield Center Township can continue maintaining safe and reliable roads, streets, and bridges without adding new taxes.
