Community Focus recently featured a video with Northfield Center Township Trustee Russell Mazzola, who shared a detailed update on what’s been happening throughout the township this summer. Click here to watch the full video!
Here’s what residents should know from his update:
Park Improvements & Intern Projects
Beacon Hills Park is looking better than ever! Fresh mulch was added to the playground this summer, and our dedicated summer interns from the Service Department washed all the playground equipment—leaving the park in great condition for families to enjoy. In addition to park maintenance, the interns have also assisted with crack sealing throughout the township, which helps with the longevity of our roads and extends their lifespan.
Township Improvement Projects Underway
Several important infrastructure projects are ongoing, including:
- Norwood Lake Ditch Project
- Summer Connects Fiber Project
- Dorwick Ditch Project
- Bayberry Drive Drainage Improvement Project
Each of these efforts plays a role in improving infrastructure, drainage, and overall quality of life for residents.
Community Events & Entertainment
We’re enjoying a fun and active summer season:
- A recent concert at the gazebo near the Olde Town Hall featured a performance by The Good Knights.
- Coming up on August 10th, The Blue Taxi Duo will perform at the gazebo. During the concert, we’ll also be holding a food drive in partnership with the Emergency Assistance Center—please bring a non-perishable item to donate!
- Mark your calendars for September 13th, when we’ll be hosting a Movie in the Park event for residents of all ages to enjoy.
Zoning Department News
There is a vacancy on the Zoning Board, and we’re currently accepting applications. If you’re interested in serving your community, stop by the Township Office at 8484 Olde Eight Road to pick up a paper application.
Important Ballot Reminder
A renewal levy will appear on the ballot this November. We encourage residents to stay informed and vote on this important local issue.
